9 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown 1000 (Oct 16)

5. Big Dumb Fun

Truth TV

SmackDown 1000's opening segment was a big bag of pure, unfiltered, silly !*$%, and while it may have been a Down on any other night, it was entirely in keeping with that this anniversary episode was all about. It's hard to fault it for that reason.

R-Truth and Carmella kicked things off with an unexpected episode of Truth TV. They talked a bunch of nonsense, before pausing for a dance break. More nonsense, another dance break. Stephanie and Shane McMahon showed up next. Nonsense, dance break. A spot of Raw vs. SmackDown banter, Vince's grand arrival. Dance break. A reminder that Stephanie has absolutely no rhythm whatsoever. Dance break. Dance break. DANCE BREAK!

If you hate Truth, 'Mella, and the McMahons, or any combination of these things, this mess-around might have upset you. Why bother, though? It, like people who use the term 'smark' unironically, isn't to be taken seriously.
