5. CM Punk Costs Himself

The real story coming out of CM Punk's first WWE singles match since 2014 was that he cost himself the win by letting old wounds reopen then get the best of him. Punk likely had the match won, but spotted Seth Rollins wearing the same sentimental bracelet Drew McIntyre had stolen. All bets were off once Punk saw that.

Seth implored him to focus, but couldn't resist poking the bear by saying "nobody wants you here". Punk bit, then McIntyre took his head off and bagged the win. Arguably, that needed to happen. Drew couldn't keep coming up short, and it's poignant that Punk's own actions paved the way for his greatest rival to win on PLE.

Keep this feud going for as long as you can, Hunter. It's a winner.

Personally, as examined in the 'Downs', this fan would've liked to see a bit more violence from Drew and Punk mid-match, but it's hard to bitch about the storytelling. Punk's old issues with Rollins reared their ugly head, and that came back to haunt him. To top it all off, McIntyre has the bracelet again.
