9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Sep 22)

8. Who Attacked Eddie?

At the conclusion of this week's episode, Eddie Edwards was seen leaving the building, before the screen faded to black with Eddie heard screaming. The closing shot of the night was the former two-time World Champion laid out on the ground.

We'll get the negativity out of the way first - it's a bit soon to be doing another 'who dunnit' story, considering it was just before Slammiversary when we had the whole 'who attacked Trey' arc, with Madman Fulton of course being revealed as the culprit there. However, it's always a good way to set something up, as we saw with Fulton and Ace Austin's partnership.

The questioning now begins as to who would have beef to settle with Edwards. An easy guess would be Eric Young given what happened earlier in the evening. However, don't bet against Rich Swann doing such a thing. Eddie and Eric are set to clash on 3 October at the Impact Plus special Victory Road, meaning Swann's match with Young may be in jeopardy. Bound For Glory rumours suggest Eddie will battle Ken Shamrock, so perhaps this was a way to get 'The World's Most Dangerous Man' back in the mix, while some fans have speculated that it could have been a returning Davey Richards.

Regardless of who it turns out to be, it more or less sets up a fine story arc moving forward.
