9 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (18 Oct)

Drew Gulak Braun Strowman

Your writer's keyboard was all ready to get these hands upon seeing Drew Gulak selected as the Braun Strowman victim du jour just a week and change removed from a dynamic Cruiserweight Championship loss to Lio Rush on NXT. Not least when his gear and Powerpoint presentation suggested that the former titleholder was in throwback mode.

Unfortunately, he - and to a lesser extent, the match itself - was simply too charming to detest.

Strowman did what Strowman does and everybody seemed to enjoy another flattening whilst commentators talked up how the same thing might happen to Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia. That match won't have half as much goodwill as this one, ironically enough.
