9 Ups & 4 Downs From This Week's Impact Wrestling (Aug 16)

As expected, the main event match of Tessa Blanchard and Tommy Dreamer vs. Sami Callihan and Dave Crist ruled. It was an exciting match that added another chapter to the scintillating Callihan/Blanchard saga.

This one wasn't a one-sided encounter whatsoever, plenty of back and forth action throughout. Dave Crist used the guard rail to weaken 'The Innovator of Violence', something that riled up Tessa even more than she already was. When the former Knockouts Champion was finally tagged in, she came in like a house on fire.

When it came to the ending of the bout, it was so well executed. There wasn't a referee in sight, allowing a kendo stick to be introduced by Sami Callihan, That decision would come back to bite him however, as Blanchard would eventually get her hands on the weapon, and use it to perform a second Magnum on Dave Crist for the three count.

Although this story between Sami Callihan and Tessa Blanchard has been going on for quite a bit of time, it's showing no signs of stagnating. Regardless of how long this one goes on for, it'll go down as one of the most memorable rivalries in recent Impact history, and it's because of matches like this.
