9 Ups & 6 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 11)

5. Exhibition Goes Awry

Before he goes on to face Ken Shamrock in seven days, Moose went toe to toe with Stephan Bonnar, with Bonnar proving to be a step ahead of Moose this time around. The former Grand Champion treated his opponent like a joke here by not taking him seriously, something that came back to bite him as Bonnar would take the fight to Moose.

In the end, Moose would get himself intentionally disqualified as he shoved the referee into the ropes to crotch Stephan, before launching a post-match assault that left Bonnar bloodied. Ken Shamrock would eventually come to the rescue (since Moose had Frank Trigg at ringside, it's a mystery as to why Ken didn't do the same for Stephan), with Moose screaming and tapping out for dear life upon being put in the ankle lock.

Considering the last few weeks of this rivalry has mostly been verbal, this is exactly the sort of thing that was needed to entice the appetite of the fans watching. Their match at Bound For Glory could either be excellent or a complete disaster. Judging by the short chunk of interaction we saw here, things could turn out extremely well for their match. Only time will tell, but things are looking positive.

Expect to see both Frank Trigg and Stephan Bonnar at ringside for that one because why not?
