9 Ups And 6 Downs From WWE Money In The Bank 2021

1. Building New Stars

We’ll heap the praise later, promise. But first things first… can we get a reaction to Charlotte Flair winning her 13th(!) women’s championship Sunday night?

At least she didn’t cut the legs out from underneath an up-and-coming star again… oh wait.

For the second time, Flair defeated Rhea Ripley for a title at a point where a convincing victory could have been a career-defining moment for the Australian. The result is Charlotte racking up yet another title win during the past seven-plus years (yes, she’s really won 13 (or is it 14?) titles in just over seven years) while Rhea will have to pick up the pieces on Raw.

There’s a decent chance this is leading to a rematch at SummerSlam where Ripley can “get her win back” in front of 70,000 fans, but as a reminder, this is the same failed strategy WWE tried with Roman Reigns years ago, and we all saw how well that worked out to turn him into a dominant singles star.

But yeah, Charlotte wins, LOL. Maybe they ought to just create a title just for her, kinda like the Million Dollar Championship.
