Now, we have rightfully trashed the decision to have Becky Lynch squash Bianca Belair in seconds for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but let’s just reflect on what having The Man back in WWE means for the company.

Lynch easily was one of the – if not the – biggest star(s) in WWE at the time she left due to pregnancy. Her departure left the Raw women’s division with a pretty big hole it never really filled Her presence can carry a show, and her ability can carry matches to respectability when they have no right to be any good.

Having Lynch back in WWE is exactly what WWE needed right now, a shot in the arm they desperately needed. Her return wasn’t on par with CM Punk showing up at AEW Friday night, but her shock appearance was one of the biggest surprises WWE could pull off, short of The Rock turning up.

Of course, we’re going to have to see how they play things after her sucker-punch and sudden win for the women’s title, but let’s give some kudos here for having her back in WWE.
