9 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2018

5. Demon Squash City

Well, we have to give it to WWE: They at least followed through on a storyline properly.

For a good while, we’ve had to endure Baron Corbin making size jokes at Finn Balor’s expense, despite Balor being a world-class wrester and Corbin being a world-class underachieving choke artist. It all seemed to be building to a head, but their match at SummerSlam wasn’t anything anyone was really looking forward to.

Enter The Demon.

Without warning, Balor unleashed his war-painted Demon side on Corbin, sending the Barclays Center into a frenzy at the unexpected surprise and causing Baron to likely soil himself. Finn ran over the constable in rapid fashion, obliterating Corbin and defeating him to pay off the storyline of Balor being too small and not measuring up.

And for those saying it’s hypocritical to applaud this squash and boo the other, the storyline for this one worked perfectly, while the other was just a straight squash out of nowhere that didn’t fit the storyline going into the match.
