9 Worst Abuses Of Creative Control In Wrestling

1. Hulk Hogan Vs. The Butcher

If you believe some reports, the only reason The Butcher - aka Brutus Beefcake - got a gig in WCW at all was because his good friend Hulk Hogan, who made the same move himself, put in a word for him.

Given that Beefcake had spent close to a decade building up his wrestling profile under the employ of Vince McMahon in the 1980s, that was perhaps an exaggeration - yet the chasm between his fortunes towards the end of his time in WWE and the early part of that in WCW can't be ignored.

At Starrcade '94, the two friends ended up headlining the show in a bout for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, while the likes of Sting and, in particular, Vader (who apparently didn't see eye to eye with the Hulkster) were left on the under-card.
