9 Wrestling Moments Involving Future Stars When They Were Young
9. Charlotte At WrestleMania 24 And Raw For Ric Flair Retirement In 2008
Current NXT Women's Champion Charlotte (to the left of Batista in the photo above) is the daughter of Ric Flair that has only been wrestling for a few years. When Flair lost his final WWE match to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24 in Orlando she was just about to turn 22 years old. She may have had wrestling on her mind, but at that point she was still four years away from signing with WWE. It was very emotional during the WrestleMania 24 weekend as Flair was inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame on the Saturday, lost to Michaels in a good match on the Sunday and then said his goodbye on Raw. His family joined him in the ring, which included Charlotte (real name Ashley) and his late son Reid. Perhaps she knew then that she would get into wrestling, but we didn't know that the future NXT Women's Champ was standing in a WWE ring that night. For his part, Flair has gone on to say that his daughter is going to be the best female wrestler ever. Is he biased? Of course. What father isn't? She's shown she has the talent to be great, but it's just a matter of putting it all together and capitalizing on opportunities given to her. She should be on the main roster soon, so we'll see what happens when she gets there.
