9 WWE Backlash 2018 Results Predictions

Is Big Cass about to go all Sheamus-in-the-Sun-Life over DBry? Big sigh, everybody...

BACKLASH 2018 RESULTS PREDICTIONS
WWE

Almost nine full days have elapsed since we last had a WWE supershow, and like a vampire at an anaemic's clinic, the symptoms of withdrawal are proving just too much to bear.

Thank goodness then, that there's a phlebotomist's roadshow riding into view. Yes, The Greatest Propaganda Game was only last Friday, but already it's time to wipe the slate clean for yet another major offering from Vince and co., as the dual-branded Backlash swings towards us like those funny blade things they used to have this Sunday from Newark, New Jersey.

The build might as well have been designed by the architect of the Sterling Bridge, so shoddy is its quality, but at the very least the actual matches on offer look pretty solid. Seth Rollins is on a tear, both Samoa Joes are unlikely to put in a bad shift, and third time ought to prove a charm for AJ and Nakamura in their Battle of the Balls.

But speaking of dropping a bollock, WWE are always liable to mucky up a promising card with a piece of barmy booking. Like, for example, having Big Cass pulverise Daniel Bryan as if he's in the Sun Life Stadium. There's no question that's gonna happen. The rest? Take a looksie.

9. Ruby Runs Riot Over Bayley

WWE

There's got to be a reason this match was added to the card at the eleventh hour, and it isn't due to popular demand or because the show was looking threadbare. Almost certainly, this unexpected addition has been shoe-horned onto the pre-show to 'further' the animosity between Sasha Banks and her motherhugging counterpart, a pseudo-feud which has been running since the Berlin Wall collapsed.

Word on the street (those pretend little streets they have on the internet) is that WWE are finally set to pull the trigger on turning this schlocky ham into actual beef. Expect Sasha to watch Bayley get beat down by Ruby and her rioters, returning the non-favour from Monday night. And then it's on! Probably.

Prediction: Ruby Riott gets by with a little help from her friends. Bayley, does not.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
