9 WWE SmackDown Angles That Should Follow Money In The Bank 2017

8. Put The New Day In Singles Competition

This is not a suggestion that The New Day, one of the most over acts WWE has enjoyed in well over a decade, should be broken up. In fact, the threesome seems to be the opposite of The Shield in the sense that the three men will likely have a hard time once the inevitable split happens. "Sum of its parts" and all that jazz. No, New Day should definitely remain a faction for the foreseeable future.

There's absolutely no reason why they should be limited to only tag team bouts, however. All three can work, and Big E in particular has all the tools to become a top guy. Insert him into the mix as a singles competitor while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods focus on competing as a duo.

With the SmackDown roster frighteningly thin on current top-drawing talents, having one or more members of the most popular group in WWE join the main event scene would benefit all parties involved - SmackDown gets more firepower at the top of the cards and Big E gets a chance at the push he was rumored to be scheduled for before Roman Reigns won Vince McMahon's heart.

New Day doesn't need the rub of being tag team champions to ascend any further; they've grown so beloved that a lengthy stint without the titles won't harm their standing at all.

Split them up while maintaining their group status and let's have some fun.
