9 WWE Survivor Series 2020 Impulse Reactions

6. Bobby Lashley Vs. Sami Zayn

Hurt Business
WWE

Bobby Lashley and Sami Zayn weren't just battling each other in this clash of midcard champions orchestrated purely to pad out numbers for whichever brand needed it. They were battling a 2018 storyline gone so horribly wrong that 'The All Mighty' never really recovered as a babyface after the fact.

For all Zayn tried to make this experience a little more satisfying, this wasn't a great deal better. Calling back to their prior match with a vertigo issue was nice, as was his rage at the obvious disadvantage he found himself at due to The Hurt Business' presence at ringside, but the rest of this was such a tonal mess that they didn't stand a chance of making it work.

Everybody was a heel. The commentary made no sense. There was zero flow to the entire match as a result. Everybody was dislikable, including a referee that was positioned as inept. A nightmarish time for Zayn in the match, and a similar experience that was shared by all of us that had to sit through it.
