7. The New Day Vs. The Street Profits

Paying off a cute build, this was really really good.

One of the few Champion Vs Champion matches that had more than a match graphic and a few tweets going for it, the battle between The Street Profits and The New Day took place through Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford's gentle mocking of an isolated Big E on the blue brand.

With The New Day divided, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were forced to exchange bad banter with the...sigh..."Jerk" Business. However, following a mini-banger with Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander on Raw, their second in-ring smash in six days with the SmackDown Tag Team Champions did much to lift them from the brink of a slump.

Dawkins and Ford were fired all the way up at the start of the match, contributing to some wicked chemistry between the pairs that positioned The New Day as cocky veteran heels for the bulk of a brilliant little battle.

The eventual tag to Dawkins was the ThunderDome's version of hot, as was the Profits' late flurry of offence on the Raw Champions. Then, when Ford kicked out of the Midnight Hour, a pointed lack of Big E was noted by the commentary as things fell to bits for the doubles division legends. Nothing could keep the SmackDown champions down before they finished Xavier Woods a tag team blockbuster.
