Expect further AEW departures soon, as contracts expire among unused talent.

Abadon and Nick Comoroto are expected to be among the next group of wrestlers released by AEW in 2025.

Dave Meltzer writes as much in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting Zak Knight as another potentially impending departure.

Per the report, several wrestlers are not going to be retained by AEW when their deals expire. They are still listed on the AEW roster, though Meltzer states the roster is "often slow to update", even though Rey Fenix was quickly removed upon his AEW departure.

There is currently no exact word on when Abadon and Comoroto's contracts are due to elapse. Meltzer stated, however, that the names he'd heard would be departing AEW "are not being used at all."

Abadon was signed to a full-time AEW deal in June 2020, when they were cleverly used to subvert Anna Jay's debut angle. AEW had spent a few weeks building Jay up as an exciting newcomer. When Anna arrived on Dynamite, she was brutally squashed by Abadon, triggering The Dark Order to take Jay under their wing for her first major AEW run.

AEW has booked Abadon sparingly over the past few years, with Ring of Honor becoming their primary home. Nonetheless, Abadon was often used in featured matches around Halloween, given their 'Living Dead Girl' gimmick, with the most recent example coming against Athena at ROH's 24 October tapings.

Nick Comoroto, meanwhile, hasn't wrestled since August 2024. The former Factory member has been out of action since getting his hip resurfaced that month, rendering him unable to compete until sometime this year. The 33-year-old was booked regularly on ROH in 2024 with his last AEW appearance being a one-minute Daniel Garcia squash defeat that June.
