AEW Doubling WWE Ticket Sales In Long Island, NY
WWE might be struggling to shift tickets in the new UBS Arena, but AEW are flying...
All Elite Wrestling is currently outdrawing WWE by more than double for upcoming shows at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, Long Island, New York.
Dave Meltzer spoke about the matter on Wrestling Observer Radio, stating that AEW's ticket sales were sitting at around 6,200 for the 8 December Dynamite and Rampage tapings. WWE's 29 November Raw show, meanwhile, had shifted somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500.
WrestleTix has more precise numbers available. Per their data, AEW has sold 6,167 of the 8.851 tickets made available while WWE has moved just 2,450 of 7,398.
AEW announced the 8 December event, which will be the company's first in Long Island, on 7 September, with tickets going on sale three days later. WWE then confirmed their Raw event at the UBS Arena on 15 September.
AEW also looks set to outdraw WWE in New York City this week. WWE's return to Madison Square Garden attracted 13,323 fans for the 10 September episode of SmackDown, while AEW's Grand Slam event in Arthur Ashe Stadium (a bigger venue) has moved 18,675 tickets for this Wednesday, 22 September. That show will be headlined by Kenny Omega vs. Bryan Danielson.
