AEW Dynasty 2024: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True
1. “CM Punk” Gets Involved
Right, no. No, Tony Khan wouldn’t be this daft, would he? Picture the scene: The Young Bucks are about to pull down the AEW Tag-Team Titles when some extra wearing a CM Punk mask hits the ring and stops them. Or, maybe Matthew and Nicholas will employ this extra to help them win - in effect saying that Punk finally apologised to them.
Urgh.
Being totally honest, this writer isn’t exactly high on AEW’s product or Tony Khan’s leadership right now, and so he can’t completely rule out something this asinine. If Tony dares make CM bloody Punk (again, a dude who doesn’t even work here anymore) the main talking point at Dynasty, then he’ll be shooting himself in the foot with both barrels.
We get it. The Bucks are trolls with this EVP stuff, but Punk’s name doesn’t need to be dragged back up after Dynamite’s recent silliness. Full focus should be going on a potentially cracking ladder match between two top tag-teams, and yet...AEW might not be able to resist another dig.
