WHAT?!

Again, your eyes are not deceiving you. Full Gear 2023 will be 24 hours short of one full year since MJF won the AEW World Title on the 2022 show, but times have changed since then. Will Max win multiple World Titles if he sticks around in All Elite? No doubt, but Jay White is on fire these days and deserves a look-in himself.

Bullet Club Gold has emerged as one of the most entertaining aspects of AEW programming across the board, and it'd be nice if Tony Khan rewarded that hard graft with something tangible. That "something tangible" would be AEW's top prize. 'Switchblade' would be a fine choice to supplant MJF.

Social media will be rife with chatter about Friedman leaving the company if he drops the belt here. His contractual status is still anyone's guess, but that wouldn't be why he's shedding the gold on Saturday. Jay White's stellar performances over the summer must count for something.

Surprise!
