Your eyes are not deceiving you.

Admittedly, many wrestling fans across the globe will be shaking their heads reading this and wondering why Adam Copeland losing his first AEW pay-per-view match is a good idea. It can be summed up like this: He's Edge, lads. The man is Teflon at this point in his career.

Also, this wouldn't be Copeland dropping to defeat on some random episode of Collision. No, he'd be continuing a killer story on pay-per-view and setting the scene for a one-on-one match that'll garner significant interest from older fans who remember Edge and Christian's glory days. Cage still hasn't forgiven his pal for winning King Of The Ring 2001, damn it.

Sting's retirement stuff is a backdrop to this bout, obviously, but it's not the most important plot point Full Gear's six man has. Christian pinning his longtime bestie then gloating about it on TV as Copeland strives for revenge sounds tasty.
