AEW contracted Dr. Martha Hart before going ahead with Sting's Dynamite entrance.

With this past week's AEW Dynamite concluding with Sting dropping from the rafters to take out the Young Bucks, Tony Khan spoke to Martha Hart ahead of time to get her approval for this shocking entrance.

Of course, Martha's husband Owen Hart tragically passed away at the Over the Edge PPV back in 1999, with Owen falling to his death after a similar entrance went wrong.

As per Fightful Select, Tony Khan spoke with Martha to confer with her over Sting's entrance, with Dr. Hart "giving her blessing" to this idea.

For Sting, his transformation from Surfer Sting to Crow Sting in WCW during the second half of the '90s saw the Icon drop from the rafters at several points. Up until this past Wednesday, the Stinger hadn't performed such an entrance since TNA Slammiversary 2007, and before that he'd not entered from the rafters since 2000.

A truly legendary career which dates all the way back to 1985, Sting is set to hang up his boots and facepaint later today, with him and Darby Allin defending the AEW Tag Team Titles against the Young Bucks at AEW Revolution in what is billed as Sting's retirement match.
