AEW: Ranking Every 2020 Signing's Run From Best To Worst
4. Powerhouse Hobbs
When 2020 began, few had heard of Will Hobbs. After a decade on the independent scene, the big man was picked up by AEW this summer. His first match with the company was over in 13 seconds, losing to Orange Cassidy in a extremely brief contest.
After six more losses, Hobbs finally broke through with a standout performance in the All Out 2020 Casino Battle Royale, which caught the eye of Tony Khan. Soon, Hobbs was officially signed with the promotion.
Hobbs won over more fans every week with his impressive size and strength, especially when this was paired with fellow monsters like Brian Cage. Since being signed, the powerful grappler has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Cody, Darby Allin, and then-AEW World Champ Jon Moxley, and got his first title match with the promotion when he challenged for the FTW Championship on an episode of Dynamite.
However, Hobbs' biggest moment came just last month, when he turned heel and aligned himself with Taz and his former tormentors. Now going by the name "Powerhouse Hobbs", Will looks like more of a threat than ever.
From an actual nobody to a certified TNT Championship contender, Hobbs has had a hell of a year and it's been thoroughly deserved.
