AEW Set To Sign Big Name Free Agent?
One of wrestling's biggest free agents may soon be scooped up by Tony Khan's AEW.
Keith Lee may have already agreed on a deal to sign for All Elite Wrestling.
Writing in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer states that, at the very least, Lee has been "talked about" for AEW. This follows the former NXT Champion officially becoming a free agent following the expiration of his WWE 90-day non-compete clause earlier this week.
Lee was one of several WWE wrestlers to be released as part of a round of "budget cuts" on 4 November 2021.
The 37-year-old has stayed cryptic on his future since departing the market leaders, though he has stated that he intends to return to the ring. Wednesday saw him acknowledge his newfound free agency status on Twitter:-

Lee filed a handful of trademark applications relating to his pro wrestling character last month.
A WWE wrestler since May 2018, when it was announced he had signed for the promotion, Lee took a while to get going in NXT but eventually rose up to capture that brand's top championship. He started a main roster run cursed by inconsistent booking and a lengthy battle with COVID-19 in 2020, getting rebranded Bearcat Lee towards the end, before finally being let go.
