Having just added a tenth championship to her ever-growing collection of gold, AEW's Mercedes Moné has hit out at Dave Meltzer.

Meltzer was asked, on X, whether he thought Mercedes had a shot at being crowned the best women's wrestler of the year, to which the Observer founder said he sees Moné, Toni Storm, Iyo Sky, Sareee, and Saya Kamitani as the leading contenders for that race.

In response to this, the current AEW TBS Champion called Dave Meltzer a "dumb, stupid, salty Mark!".

As for the annual, fan-voted Wrestling Observer Awards, they tend to be announced in February, with Mercedes Moné surely a prime candidate to win an award or two, particularly the Women's Wrestling MVP gong, which she placed fourth in in the 2024 Awards - behind winner Sareee, Rhea Ripley, and Toni Storm.

While Mercedes playfully poked fun at Dave Meltzer, as alluded to, last week she won the BODYSLAM Women's Championship in Denmark, defeating Aliss Ink, crowning herself Ten Belts Moné, and also taking on the Ultimo Moné nickname in a nod to the legendary Ultimo Dragon, who once concurrently held ten championships at the end of 1996 through until 1997.

Up next for the CEO, she has a chance to add an 11th title to her name, as she challenges TNA's Jody Threat for the Winnipeg Pro Wrestling Women's Championship this Sunday at WPW Rumble in the Burt. For those wondering, the current titles under Mercedes' name are the AEW TBS Championship, the CMLL Women's Championship, the RevPro Undisputed British Women's Champion (which includes the Queen of the Southside Championship), the EWA Women's Championship, the Prime Time Wrestling Women's Championship, the BestYa Women's Championship, the Discovery Wrestling Scottish Women's Championship, the BODYSLAM Women's Championship, and, of course, the AEW Owen Hart Women's Tournament Championship.
