AEW's Rush spent much of the recent Continental Classic tournament working through a torn hamstring.

Rush revealed via X that he suffered the injury in his second tournament bout, which came against Mark Briscoe on the 29 November episode of Dynamite. Despite this, he worked through his remaining C2 matches.

The former ROH World Champion posted:

In the #AEWContinentalClassic I tore my hamstring in the second match I had. I will recover and return ready and hungrier than ever for a fight. #LFI #AEWDynamite

There is currently no word on how badly injured Rush is, or how much time he will be required to miss. Nonetheless, he has been working hurt for over a month.

Rush went 2-3 in the Continental Classic's Gold League, defeating Briscoe and Jay Lethal, but falling to Swerve Strickland, Jon Moxley, and 'Switchblade' Jay White. Beyond this, he always teamed with Lethal, White, and Brody King in a defeat to Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, and Briscoe at the Worlds End pay-per-view on 30 December.

Signed to AEW since May 2022, Rush confirmed last July that he had agreed a contract extension with the Tony Khan-helmed promotion.
