While WWE may regularly proclaim AEW as not being competition for them, it appears that Tony Khan's All Elite Wrestling is becoming more and more competitive with WWE across all major markets.

As per Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that AEW is now the #1 wrestling promotion in the Chicago market. That means that more households and more members of key demographics are watching AEW than WWE in that region.

Meltzer also adds how AEW is becoming increasingly competitive with WWE across other big markets, even stating how AEW is running very strongly in the New York market that has for so long been the 'home' of WWE across the decades.

Of course, there are still regions where WWE dominates over AEW, with Dave namedropping Houston as one particular market where WWE draws a lot better numbers than AEW.

For WWE, these next months months are going to be increasingly important, with their own ratings - particularly where it pertains to the Raw brand - sagging to all-time lows, while AEW continues to chomp at their heels. Causing additional worry to WWE, too, should be the rumoured impending arrivals of Bryan Danielson, Bray Wyatt and plentiful others - which will only add more to the major buzz generated by the recent AEW signing of CM Punk.
