AEW TNT Championship: Predicting All 8 Men In The Tournament

SEMI-FINALISTS

4. Kip Sabian

Superbad's had a bit of a strange time in AEW. Despite winning the company's first-ever singles match back in May of last year at AEW's Double or Nothing PPV (dear god, where has the time gone) he's since floated around the promotion without too much to show for it. Compare that to the man he beat that night, Sammy Guevara.

However, he's the sort of name who's always just going to be one decent win away from generating a bit of buzz again. At 27 he's got plenty miles on the clock, and being an AEW mainstay in its inaugural year means that something resembling a push will arrive eventually. You suspect that the company have kept his Win/Loss record looking respectable for precisely this purpose.

A semi-final match against another young prospect (especially if it's done before the other finalist has been confirmed) is the sort of 'this could go either way' contest that wrestling tournaments absolutely live and die by. Kip Sabian isn't going to be AEW's first-ever TNT Champion, but he's got enough about him that a substantial first-round win would let you entertain the possibility that he might be.
