AEW Worlds End 2023: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True

6. AEW Misses A Golden Opportunity

This Continental Classic tourney has been a fabulous addition to weekly AEW programming. The round robin format has kept things interesting, because wrestlers have been "kept alive" by results elsewhere. However, it's real, real, real important that Tony Khan picks the right winner come the end.

Obviously, this piece is going out before Wednesday's episode of Dynamite. Keep that in mind when reading, because something could happen on the flagship that changes everything. For now, we know that Bryan Danielson vs. Eddie Kingston and a three-way pitting Jon Moxley vs. Jay White vs. Swerve Strickland will happen on the show.

Results there will determine who's in the CC final come Worlds End. This is honestly AEW's golden ticket to make someone like Swerve or White a bonafide headliner in the company. Putting one of them over strongly rather than gift-wrapping the tournament for Danielson or Moxley makes the most sense.

Fingers crossed people talk about the tourney's conclusion fondly heading into 2024.
