AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2022: 10 Things That Must Happen

6. Will Ospreay Retains

AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door Will Ospreay Orange Cassidy

Ladies and gents, meet the most obvious title retention ever. Most obvious title retention, meet ladies and gentlemen. Seriously though, there's no way Orange Cassidy is taking that IWGP United States belt away from Will Ospreay at Forbidden Door. That'd be a huge shocker, and it's not going to happen.

Ospreay literally just won the strap on 12 June.

Does that mean the match will be a stinker? Not at all. Ospreay, when motivated, is still one of the most exciting talents in pro wrestling. Further, Cassidy has shown his worth in elevated spots against the likes of Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho over the past few years. These lads will smash it.

Ospreay is the definite winner though. It's impossible to envision New Japan agreeing to put one of their top singles titles on someone else so quickly, especially when Cassidy wasn't even supposed to be Will's original opponent for this show.
