What did the AEW star have to say about online accusations?

During her appearance on this week's 'Talk Is Jericho' podcast, AEW's Britt Baker addressed criticism from some fans online that she'd "stolen" Bayley's WWE gimmick.

Britt was not happy about it.

Baker, who has been playing a 'Role Model' gimmick since turning heel in January, says she was actually inspired by Chris Jericho himself rather than poaching the idea from episodes of SmackDown; Britt revealed she does keep tabs on what's happening in WWE's world, but she doesn't have time to watch absolutely everything and definitely didn't steal anything from Bayley.

The reigning SmackDown Women's Champ plays a similarly self-aggrandising character herself on Friday nights.

Britt told Jericho this was a coincidence, then said she draws more from his heel arrogance when cutting promos or performing on AEW programming. Despite this, she still fields "daily" questions and criticism from fans about the similarities between her and Bayley.

The weird thing here is that Baker and Bayley aren't even that similar. Sure, they play egotistical heel roles on duelling products, but being an arrogant heel is hardly something that's unique to either woman.

Britt also put over Bayley and Sasha Banks as "absolutely great".
