5. One Night Stand 2008 (Edge vs. The Undertaker)

When you think about it: the Undertaker being in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match is a bit of a tonal mismatch. Sure, TLC can be a brutal, hard-hitting stipulation, but there’s definitely more a “fun” vibe attached to it than something like a Casket match or Hell in a Cell, which is more the Undertaker’s cup of tea. Nevertheless, at One Night Stand, ‘Taker gives it his all in a TLC for the World Heavyweight Championship against one of its inventors.

One of the final main events before the PG era, ‘Taker and Edge put on a hellacious match filled with stiff chair shots and fantastic table bumps. Edge and ‘Taker’s feud is cited as one of the best parts of WWE’s 2008, and this match is an example why. What it lacks in bloodshed it makes up for in spectacle, including an amazing spot where ‘Taker falls of a giant ladder through four tables. Seriously, the fact that he was taking moves like that at age 43 shows his dedication.

In the end, Edge wins, and by the match’s stipulation, Undertaker is forced to leave WWE forever...he would, of course, be back in time for SummerSlam. Oh, wrestling.
