One of the most heavily-hyped non-title matches for the show, there was considerable curiosity on who’d be revealed as the mystery partner. It ended up being Chris Jericho, whose major tie-in was his feud with Wyatt from last year. That made for an interesting twist, as Y2J was one of the least-likely people suspected to join the match.

Overall, it was an exciting match, as every single person involved brought something substantial to the contest. Reigns’ personal feud with Bray made the match more dramatic, Harper and Ambrose provided the high-risk spots and craziness that made the crowd cheer in approval, and Jericho and Strowman provided contrasting styles that added to the match’s unique combination.

Strauman’s strength and immovability was a major element of the match, and WWE did a good job of making him look like an enormous threat (pardon the pun), especially how it took multiple attacks just to bring him down. Furthermore, WWE did the right thing by having Jericho be the one getting knocked out by Strauman, instead of either Ambrose or Reigns, who are regular wrestlers that need to look as strong as possible.

This is one of those rivalries that can continue without it getting overly repetitive. With Jericho’s apparent dissatisfaction with the team, it’ll be interesting how the feud develops further, especially since everyone’s getting lots of screen time.
