Backstage Notes On Cancelled Kevin Owens Segment From WWE Raw

How Kevin Owens almost played a bigger role in Vince McMahon's egg hunt...

WWE pulled a planned Kevin Owens segment from last night's episode of Raw.

Fightful Select reported on WWE's plans for the show prior to it hitting the airwaves, noting that at one point, Owens was set to undergo a lie detector test. It was explicitly stated in an update, however, that the segment may have already been canned - as was evidently the case.

Owens was involved in the show regardless. His first contribution was a backstage interview with Sarah Schreiber, during which he spoke of ignoring Seth Rollins' prior promo on him while expressing an interest in finding Vince McMahon's missing Cleopatra egg. Later, KO was ringside for Big E's main event with Austin Theory, watching E nail Rollins with a Big Ending at the end of the show.

There is currently no indication that KO's lie detector would have had something to do with Vince McMahon's hunt for the $100 million egg, it's an easy line to draw.

Though he remains active on television, Owens may currently be working through his last couple of months as a WWE wrestler, as his current contract is reportedly set to expire on 31 January 2022.
