Paul 'Triple H' Levesque's appointment as WWE's head of creative has been met with "general excitement" from talent.

This is according to Fightful Select, who have confirmed with WWE that Triple H will, indeed, be handling creative along with his other duties in the promotion. WWE announced Levesque's new position in a statement confirming Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon as co-CEOs earlier today, following news of his return as Executive Vice President, Talent Relations last week.

Fightful's report notes that while Executive Director Bruce Prichard and Vice President, Creative Writing Ed Koskey largely handled creative for last Friday's SmackDown (WWE's first post-Vince McMahon show), Triple H served as the "finish guy."

Prichard is to remain with WWE for the time being, working on creative. His dual talent relations/creative role following John Laurinaitis' June suspension had led to internal concerns, as it would have meant talent having to approach the person handling their televised output if they wanted time off.

In addition to the wrestlers' generally positive response, one USA Network source has called Triple H's promotion "exciting."

Vince McMahon resigned as WWE Chairman and CEO last Friday, relinquishing his creative duties in the process.
