Backstage Update On Ric Flair's WWE Status
News on Ric Flair, who entered a romance storyline with Lacey Evans on this week's WWE Raw.
Ric Flair is back on the scene as a full-time WWE performer - for now.
Reporting on the most recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that while there's currently no word on how long, exactly, Flair's role will last, he's going to be working a regular schedule. 'The Nature Boy' is back.
This week's Raw saw Flair officially enter a new romantic storyline with Lacey Evans, who is 41 years his junior. Seemingly feuding with his daughter, Charlotte, at the same time, Ric was there to help Evans to a victory over WWE's decorated 'Queen', before Evans proclaimed the duo were off to their hotel room so that she could "get changed" during a brief backstage interview with Sarah Schreiber.
A 71-year-old man with a history of health problems working through a global pandemic raises obvious concerns, particularly as WWE has just been hit with another COVID-19 outbreak, forcing World Champion Drew McIntyre off television temporarily.
July 2020 saw Flair deny that he was suffering from the illness ravaging the planet. His wife Wendy Barlow had self-isolated in their home after testing positive, though Flair was able to avoid the virus.
