Having announced on Monday that he suffered a torn triceps at the Royal Rumble last weekend, there's now somewhat of an update on CM Punk.

Via PWInsider, the Second City Saint was actually backstage for SmackDown on Friday from Birmingham, Alabama's Legacy Arena. This report notes how Punk was wearing a brace on his arm, and the belief is that he's already undergone surgery to repair his triceps tear. This follows previous rumblings that the Chicago native was to go under the knife on Thursday.

Of course, Punk's triceps tear is believed to have occured when he took a Future Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble. The Straight-Edge Superstar's emotional Raw promo - announcing his injury, his absence from WrestleMania XL, and the lengthy spell he'll have on the sidelines - was interrupted by McIntyre, who proceeded to mock Punk and eventually attack him.

Continuing that theme and continuing to stir the pot for a Punk vs. McIntyre rivalry down the line, the Scottish Warrior did the following after SmackDown went off the air on Friday.

That SmackDown appearance from McIntyre was for a dark match, where he defeated Sami Zayn by disqualification. From here on out, it now also appears that the Scot will be renaming his Future Shock DDT in CM Punk's "honor".
