Bayley Describes Her New WWE Heel Character As "Hit Or Miss"

Uncomfortable. Unsure. Un-Bayley.

Bayley 2019

Despite breaking records as SmackDown Women's Champion, born-again brunette Bayley isn't exactly jiving with her recent rebrand. In an interview with Chron, the WWE star admitted that her new character is "super nerve-racking" to play.

Going further, she described the entire project as "hit or miss" when it comes to how fans are responding to her and Sasha Banks at live events.

Some kids are still on the 'Hugger' bandwagon, and they turn up to shows wearing Bayley's old t-shirts and sporting her trademark side-ponytail hairdo. That's totally at odds with the atmosphere she wants to present now, and the contrast is something Bayley finds pretty awkward.

Bayley is still hopeful that time will prove she made the right decision by turning heel for the first time in her WWE career. It's interesting to learn that she's unsure about whether or not ditching the established gimmick was the right call.

For what it's worth, the new character is still in its infancy. Bayley might not be smashing it on the mic as a heel (she's arguably not assertive enough), but she deserves the chance to get things right.
