Bayley Vs. Sasha Banks 30 Minute Iron Man Match At WWE NXT Takeover Oct. 7

The main event of WWE NXT Takeover on October 7 will see NXT Women's Champion Bayley defending her title against the former champion Sasha Banks in a 30 minute Iron Man (or Iron Woman in this case) match at Full Sail University in Orlando. The bout was announced via WWE's social media platforms on Thursday night as the company held NXT tapings for future episodes that will air in the coming weeks. An Iron Man Match is a gruelling bout where the winner is determined by who has the most falls (pinfall, submission, disqualification or countout) in the allotted amount of time. The match often times runs 60 minutes, with the most famous Iron Man Match taking place at WrestleMania 12 when Shawn Michaels beat Bret Hart for his first WWE Title, but there have been many 30 minute Iron Man Matches as well. Bayley won the NXT Women's Title from Banks at the August 22 NXT Takeover Brooklyn event. It was a match that many people considered to be the greatest women's match in WWE history as well as one of the best of this year. Putting them in the main event spot is the right move because they deserve it. Allowing them to wrestle for at least 30 minutes is a reward for their amazing work in the past. They'll be under a lot of pressure to try to top what they did in the past, but considering their history they could definitely have another classic match. It's going to be a historic night on October 7 as Bayley and Sasha Banks become the first women to headline a WWE special event.
