Best (And Worst) Of NXT 2016
3. Tag Team Of The Year: The Revival
There are about four teams this year that you could make a case for Tag Team of the Year in NXT. The Authors of Pain have ripped through the entire roster, taking the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic for themselves this past month at TakeOver: Toronto. American Alpha rode a wild wind of momentum entering the year, reaching its pinnacle at Dallas. They would fall a little while afterwards, but have been hot on SmackDown since the draft. When they cooled off, #DIY picked up that heat and ran with it, having multiple Match of the Year candidates and winning over the Full Sail crowd in the process.
But only one team this year went hard... all day and all night...
Yeah, The Revival are the tag team of the Year. Not only because they are the first ever two time NXT Tag Championships, but they have put up some of the best tag team matches in recent memory. Scott Dawson has always been a reliable bruiser, but Dash Wilder has really come around to be a fantastic partner both on the mat and on the mic. It'll be interesting to see when these two will be called up, because they have more than deserved that opportunity. The problem is if WWE will give them that push - so far no NXT talent has won either of the tag team championships.
