Best And Worst WWE Title Reigns Of 2017 (So Far)
2. Goldberg (WWE Universal Champion)

The WWE Universal Championship's short history sports one of WWE's oldest World Champions in Bill Goldberg. Will his title reign be remembered for anything else? Unlikely.
Goldberg's 28-day title reign suffered mostly from its predictability and its lack of necessity. No one expected Goldberg to be wrestling beyond WrestleMania 33, meaning we all knew he would be dropping the belt to Lesnar. Their feud however, had no pressing need for a World Championship whatsoever.
Goldberg versus Lesnar was one of WWE's marquee feuds going into Orlando, one that they had been gambling on to bring in the masses of casual fans who return for 'Mania each year. Their match at Survivor Series had shocked the wrestling world, meaning fans were going to be invested in their rematch, irrespective of a title being on the line.
WWE clearly didn't want to take any chances however. Instead of allowing the rematch to go ahead as it was, they decided to rob younger talent like Kevin Owens of a career-defining Universal Championship match at WrestleMania. In less than five minutes, Goldberg lost the title, and we have barely seen it since.
