Big Boom! AJ Worked AEW Full Gear With An Injury
The legend of the Costco Guys continues to grow in the wake of AEW's latest PPV.
One of the more pleasant surprises of AEW Full Gear this past weekend occurred during the Zero Hour pre-show, where TikTok content creator Big Boom! AJ defeated QT Marshall in a feud almost exclusively conducted off-television.
A former wrestler himself, AJ got a bit of help from his son, Big Justice, to "Bring the BOOM!" and topple QT, giving AJ a win in his first match in more than 20 years. The contest itself was extremely well-received by fans and critics alike, delivering the harmless fun celebrity-style match wrestling fans have grown accustomed to through the years.
However, it turns out that AJ actually competed with a broken foot.
While bringing the BOOM! against @QTMarshall on this past Saturday's #AEWFullGear Zero Hour, Big BOOM! @ajbefumo suffered a broken foot but managed to fight valiantly and earn the victory in his #AEW debut in front of his son, #BigJustice, friend #TheRizzler, more than 10,000… pic.twitter.com/V4TAzv4Xw3

Fightful Select has a detail that makes this story even more legendary. While Big Boom! was hobbling around after the show on crutches, Fightful reports that AJ actually broke his foot earlier in the day and largely kept the injury to himself. He apparently didn't want to disappoint fans attending the show and to squander the promotion for the match.
The Costco Guys burst onto the social media scene in 2024, now boasting more than 2.3 million TikTok followers for their wholesale-warehouse-themed content. The father-son duo promoted the match largely off AEW programming, including a spot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. The feud with QT made its way briefly onto Dynamite and Rampage last week as it picked up steam.
AEW head honcho Tony Khan and AJ have said that they would love to continue working together in the future, so don't be surprised if you see the Costco Guys Bring the BOOM! down the line. For now though, best wishes to AJ as he heals up from his injury.
