Big Update On Marty Scurll's Wrestling Future
Where will 'The Villain' end up, and when does his ROH contract expire?
Marty Scurll looks set to become one of the hottest free agents in professional wrestling in just a few weeks, with the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reporting that the Brit's Ring Of Honor contract is set to expire on 30 November.
It has long been thought that Scurll will jump to All Elite Wrestling after wrapping his business with ROH. A former Being The Elite star, he is closely affiliated with Cody, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega behind the scenes, so it stands to reason that he may want to join his friends in their nascent promotion.
Meltzer notes, however, that WWE will also be an option for Scurll, as he's a readymade name (to the NXT audience) who'd be a "lock to be a top star in NXT."
On top of this, Scurll's ROH roster-mates Jeff Cobb and Bandido also face questions surrounding their future. Both have expiring deals and are said to want to work as many New Japan dates as possible (which the ROH/NJPW working relationship facilitates), though it's thought that Bandido could tread a similar path to Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. pre-AEW, becoming a truly independent star who works wherever he pleases.
