Big WWE Network Changes: 10 Things You Need To Know
8. $4.99
Next up is the $4.99 price point, which offers a good deal more than the free stream, but is still missing a few options from the WWE Network we all know and love.
For starters, subscribers at $4.99 will only get access to the "Big Four" Pay-Per-Views - Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series. That's interesting, because when the WWE Network was created, many believed that those shows - the most in-demand - should be the ones not covered by the service. It's hard to say if WWE is making a mistake by not adhering to that line of thinking, as how many fans are really going to spend upwards of $50 on No Mercy or Roadblock? Additionally, NXT TakeOver events and CWC episodes will not be available to $4.99 customers, at least not until they're placed in the video archive.
The most notable thing about the $4.99 tier, though, is that at that price, the WWE Network can only be watched on a mobile device, such as a phone or a tablet. Computers, smart TVs, video game systems, and streaming devices like Rokus will not support the $4.99 network, so this one only makes sense if a fan is phone- or tablet-reliant.
