Brand New WWE SmackDown Intro Video Debuts

WWE Draft triggers credits change in Week 3 of the Fox era.

WWE debuted an updated version of their new SmackDown credit sequence on last night's edition of the show, following the various acquisitions and (nominal) losses made during this year's Draft.

Kofi Kingston is still featured heavily in the first few seconds, but the likes of show "newcomers" Sasha Banks, Lacey Evans, Cesaro, Baron Corbin, Fire & Desire and Alexa Bliss are also given additional prominence in place of permanently departed stars Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

Much like the show's pilot, the original credits featured just about everybody the company could get away with including in order to best sell the show, and though the brand's full time roster undoubtedly take centre stage, there are still places on the titles for Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, John Cena, Triple H and other passing guests.

The actually-quite-good WWEonFox Twitter account noted how "S-T-A-C-K-E-D" the Friday roster looked in the slick sequence, whilst the slightly-dorkier WWE official account agreed.

The sentiments are correct - SmackDown is looking in rude health for an important next several months. It's a shame that during the episode itself they felt the need to recycle the opener for the main event with so much talent on offer.
