Chris Jericho's AEW Stable Named, Crashes Pro Wrestling Tees

The Painmaker's five-strong group now has a name... and hot new merch.

Chris Jericho's new stable, tentatively formed during last week's debut episode of AEW Dynamite, was christened by its leader last night.

The AEW Champion hit the ring alongside Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, and recent Impact implantees Ortiz and Santana, introducing he and his quartet of cronies as 'The Inner Circle'.

During the electric promo which followed, Jericho rained fire on Cody and his family. He referred to Dusty Rhodes as "a jerk", Dustin as a "moron", and promised to dismiss the former Stardust come Full Gear in Baltimore on 9 November.

He also shot down the inevitable crowd chants of "We The People" in the direction of former Jack Swagger Jake Hager, telling the Boston crowd the catchphrase "sucks" and is "dead and buried".

With a cool new faction obviously came a cool new shirt. After a bit of promotion by AEW's lead announcer Jim Ross, fans immediately clicked en masse on ProWrestlingTees.com - which promptly crashed.

Whilst not ideal, the overwhelming demand for Jericho's merch is a very promising sign for the company.

The site has since been restored. The Inner Circle shirt is front and centre of a slew of new AEW gear, priced $24.99. Get one whilst stocks last, we guess.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
