CM Punk: 10 Reasons WWE Fans Have Turned On Him

6. Insider Leaks

Wrestling Observer Newsletter There hasn't been a whole lot come out over Punk's exit. The little bit that has and the tone of discussion over it has generally leaned toward WWE being the helpless party with Punk the instigator of a sudden snub. The basic impression got by the insider dirtsheets is that Punk was burned out and didn't like his creative so he walked out. A whole plan was laid out for him over the spring, he had a segment for Raw on the 27th of January, Punk simply didn't care and walked out on Vince just two hours before showtime. That version of events and tone of insider reporting has rubbed off on the internet wrestling community, who have reacted with disdain for Punk's actions. The momentum in anti-Punk feeling gathered force the more the exit was discussed, forum threads and radio call in shows couldn't help but come to the conclusion that he'd done the wrong thing. The momentum has snowballed and the more Punk's exit got mentioned, the more people started voicing their gladness he was gone. It's no longer cool to wish Punk was back, it's now the in-trend to scoff at his name... yet at the same time fans can't help but be fascinated by him. It's a bit like Triple H in the 2000's, people don't care for him, but yet they can't stop having their say about him.
