CM Punk And FTR Reveal Their Faction's New Name
The Best in the World and 6-Star FTR will now formerly be known as...
CM Punk and FTR's new faction will now go by the name of CMFTR.
In the wake of the new AEW World Champion celebrating his recent Double or Nothing victory over former champ Hangman Page in the middle of the squared-circle with the ROH World Tag Team Champions on the night of the event, the two Bret Hart-lovin' forces have seemingly been joined at the hip.
A few days removed from the Las Vegas PPV, CM Punk, Cash Wheeler, and Dax Harwood would team in trios competition against The Gunn Club and Max Caster to open AEW's Dynamite debut in Los Angeles, too. Yet, far from simply being a flash in the wrasslin' pan, The Best in the World's recent comments on Twitter appear to suggest this faction could be sticking around for the long run.
Coming in a tweet which contained an anecdote from Punk's past (involving him getting involved in some physicality in his youth) that seemingly connected to his recent relationship with the former WWE tag team, Punk would sign off the post with the letters CMFTR.
One day I road my schwin bike to some dirt hills I used to jump and ride when I was a kid. When I got there, there were two kids on their bmx bikes. They told me to leave. I didn’t. We scrapped. Black eyes. Bloody lips. Next day and the whole summer we rode bikes TOGETHER. CMFTR pic.twitter.com/fJT2zxYl0z

Dax Harwood would shine further light on the birth of this new moniker by quoting the Punk message and adding "CMFTR MOTHER F***ER" in his own tweet.

And Cash Wheeler would simply post out the same photo Punk and his partner had attached to their posts.

Punk would seemingly lock eyes with his latest challenger for the upcoming Forbidden Door PPV after the aforementioned Dynamite battle as NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi wandered into AEW in the lead-up to the June 26 supershow.
