CM Punk led a backstage meeting at the 8 July episode of AEW Collision, doing so in an apparent effort at helping distinguish Tony Khan's new Saturday night brand from Dynamite on Wednesdays.

Fightful Select reports that the Punk-helmed gathering wasn't communicated to wrestlers who typically feature on Dynamite or those who weren't at the 8 July Collision show. This was due to the meeting largely revolving around ways Collision can differentiate itself from Dynamite.

As noted by Fightful, the perceived differences between Dynamite and Collision have created a "point to where many of Dynamite's usual detractors have taken a liking to Collision."

Punk's meeting highlighted several topics within the wider subject of Dynamite/Collision differentiation, including finishes, shenanigans, and other things that are and aren't good for the new show.

Beyond this, the group spoke about promotion for AEW-related projects including Fight Forever. The recently implemented safety guidelines were also covered.

Collision launched with Punk as its centrepiece on Saturday, 17 June. Its 8 July episode saw the Chicagoan face career rival Samoa Joe in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament semi-finals, picking up the victory, before advancing to a defeat to Ricky Starks the following week.
