In this case, the original tweet is gone, so only Punk's apology remains. Essentially, what happened was that the very vocally liberal/progressive/whichever word you want to use Punk was tweeting about how much more quickly same-sex marriage laws needed to change, comparing them to segregated drinking fountains. Some fans took offense in fairly ugly ways, with one saying "homos make me sick," and Punk made the mistake of lowering himself to their level of discourse, with one tweet reading "Kill yourself." Just like with regular internet trolls. As you can see, he quickly apologized. Not just because he lowered himself so much, but because depression and suicide are serious business and it's nothing you should ever wish on anyone.
