Cody Rhodes' 10 Best In-Ring Rivals Post-WWE
1. Dustin Rhodes
Dustin Rhodes is the sole person on this list to have wrestled Cody only once outside of WWE, yet that one match was so remarkable that it's hard to put him anywhere on this list but at the top.
No one knew for certain who Cody's opponent for All Elite Wrestling's premiere pay-per-view Double or Nothing would be until it was announced in late April that it'd be Dustin Rhodes, formerly known to WWE fans as Goldust, and perhaps best known for being Cody's brother. There were countless times WWE could have booked that match yet passed on the opportunity every time.
Their only one-on-one outing against each other in WWE took place at Fastlane 2015 and it was a dud for a variety of reasons. Thus, Cody and Dustin set out to right that wrong in Las Vegas and did so in spectacular fashion.
It's no secret that Cody is less of an in-ring technician and more of a storyteller, and with Dustin being 50-years-old, it was smart of them to focus on their strengths and tell the best story they possibly could. This blood bath culminated with Cody picking up the hard-fought victory and embracing his brother afterward.
Seeing these two back on the same side of the ring again at Fight for the Fallen when they take on The Young Bucks should be a spectacle. The Rhodes legacy lives on through these great rivals and even better brothers.
